We do a LOT of Cezanne Keratin Treatments at Carly Spring, and field a lot of enquiries about this miracle treatment. So here’s a list of frequently asked questions and some in depth answers, but of course, if you don’t see your question answered here, we’d love to hear from you!
What is Cezanne?
Cezanne is a 100% formaldehyde-free keratin smoothing treatment. Cezanne is free of yucky toxins and harmful ingredients traditionally found in the keratin treatments of ye olden days.
Then what’s in it?
Cezanne contains Sericin, a component of silk, which bonds to the natural keratin in your hair and cements itself between strands of keratin protein. It also contains Glycoric Acid, which is a well known exfoliant and moisturiser of the skin, keratin, botanical extracts and vitamins to protect and smooth hair from the inside out. No silk worms are harmed in the making of Cezanne!
Will Cezanne make my hair straight?
Cezanne will NOT make your hair poker straight (think Lady Gaga in the Just Dance video), but it will minimise frizz, and leave you with super luxe, smooth and manageable hair.
How long will Cezanne last?
Cezanne stands the test of time, and when proper home care is followed it lasts 3-5 months on average, but keep in mind (as known with all keratin treatments) the amount of time varies depending on hair type, texture, and maintenance routine.
Will it make my blonde hair yellow?
If you’re worried about Cezanne shifting your artificial (but totally natural 😉 ) colour, we’ve got your back! Cezanne Blonde has all the same benefits as Classic Cezanne, with extra toning ability to prevent those brassy tones creeping into your freshly Cezanned mane!
What’s this ‘proper home care’ you speak of?
Just like everything else we do in the salon, Cezanne needs some love at home to keep delivering fantastic results and go the distance. Any sulphates and parabens in products will break the treatment down VERY quickly, so we ALWAYS recommend Cezanne Perfect Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner or any Kevin Murphy Wash and Rinse (excluding Maxi.Wash) as we can guarantee these are 100% sulphate and paraben free and are compatible with your gorgeous new Cezanne treatment. We’re so confident in this recommendation, we’ll even give you 10% off these products at the time of your treatment 🙂 .
Can I wash my hair? Tie it up? Put a bobby pin in? Tuck it behind my ear? Or will putting my sunglasses on my head ruin all that hard work?
Once we’ve done our final pass on our final section with our irons (set to low-medium temperate) you are freeee! You can wash, braid, tuck, pin, bun away until your heart is content! We can even colour your hair straight after your Cezanne. Once it’s sealed, it’s locked in.
Can I go swimming?Â
You sure can! I recommend all of my clients at least wet their hair down with fresh water and apply a leave-in prior to swimming (especially if wearing a swim cap), and I recommend the same with Cezanne. Just dampen your hair down with clean water and spray in some Staying.Alive, Cezanne Leave In Perfector Spray, or Miracle Hair Treatment (which contains UV protection) and you’re good to go.
